Carol Dixon, MSW, LCSW
I’m Carol Dixon, a licensed clinical therapist with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Howard University and 28 years of licensed experience. My calling to serve, support, and care for others has spanned 46 years, deepening as I worked with a diverse range of clients of all ages facing challenges of life transitions marked by personal, social, or professional changes and anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Kintsugi Wellness Counseling was born from my passion to empower those I serve, guiding them to embrace their true selves and the unique masterpiece they were created to be. Together, we explore self-discovery, self-love, and the courage to express this authentic identity. Every day is a new opportunity to help others on their journey—a journey I know personally, having overcome my own struggles with depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-worth. Through faith, I discovered my God-given identity and a love that transformed my life.
Inspired by *kintsugi*, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold or silver, our approach embraces imperfections as pathways to growth. Emotional scars don’t define us but add to the uniqueness of who we are. Just as each fingerprint is one of a kind, so is every person—precious, unique, and worthy of love and acceptance.

Our mission is to equip and improve the lives of those who battle suicidal ideation, self-harm, and mental health by creating a brave space for vulnerability and conversations.
We empower students, families, and community leaders to heal emotional, relational, and spiritual wounds through evidence-based practices.
We empower students to become leaders by equipping them with tools to overcome any obstacle that comes their way. We teach tools to help students express themselves through writing, poetry and art.
